A Truck, a Sander, and a Handshake
VM Power Flooring started in 2012 with one guy who couldn’t stop refinishing floors. Today we’re 35+ people strong, with 4,000+ projects behind us across Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The handshake part hasn’t changed.
VM Power Flooring is a brand of VMPower Construction LLC.
In 2012, Vincent Karaca had a truck, a drum sander, and exactly one business card — hand-cut at Staples off Grape Street in Whitehall. He’d been refinishing hardwood floors since his early twenties, working alongside his father on weekends between construction gigs around the Lehigh Valley. The kind of work where you learn quick: measure twice, sand with the grain, and never promise a timeline you can’t keep.
He didn’t set out to build a company. He just had more referrals than he could handle. A kitchen in Bethlehem led to a whole-house job in Hellertown. That homeowner told her sister in Easton. By the end of that first year, Vincent had three guys, a second truck, and a whiteboard schedule that was already too small.
Here’s the decision that made the difference, though — and it happened early. Vincent insisted on rigorous hiring standards. Every installer would be trained by him, insured by him, accountable to him. In an industry where quality control is often an afterthought? That commitment to standards was unusual. Still is, frankly.
Fast-forward to today. 35+ full-time employees. The office is now in Catasauqua, serving all of eastern Pennsylvania and northern New Jersey from one central location. Over 4,000+ flooring projects across 12 counties in two states. Hardwood, luxury vinyl, tile, carpet, laminate, refinishing — if it goes on a floor, we install it.
The team holds NWFA and CFI certifications (the two credentials that actually matter in this industry, if you’re wondering), and we stand behind every installation. But ask our repeat customers what keeps them coming back, and they won’t mention certifications. They’ll tell you we showed up when we said we would. We moved the furniture carefully. We didn’t leave dust on the countertops. We picked up the phone when they called.
That’s 139+ five-star Google reviews worth of showing up, by the way. Not because we asked for them. Because people felt like they got exactly what they were promised — and maybe a little more.

Our showroom and headquarters in Catasauqua — stop by anytime.
You’re not hiring a logo. You’re hiring these people. Here’s who actually runs your project, picks your materials, and installs your floors.
Founder & Master Installer
Vincent started refinishing hardwood floors in his early twenties, working alongside his father on weekends between construction jobs in the Lehigh Valley. By 2012, he had enough repeat customers to go full-time. He still walks every job site before sign-off — old habit from the days when every floor was his own reputation on the line. NWFA and CFI certified, he's logged over 3,000 installations personally before stepping into the ownership role full-time.
Operations Manager
Sarah keeps the trains running. She joined the company in 2016 after a decade managing logistics for a regional building materials distributor. She coordinates every project from initial estimate through final walkthrough, and she's the reason crews show up on time with the right materials. Ask any repeat customer — Sarah is usually the first person they ask for.
Lead Installer — Hardwood Specialist
Danny has been with VM Power since 2014 and leads our hardwood division. He specializes in wide-plank installations and custom patterns — herringbone, chevron, borders — the work most crews won't touch. He's also EPA RRP certified for lead-safe work in older homes, which matters in a region full of pre-1978 housing stock. His finishing work is the reason half our referrals mention 'that floor guy Danny' by name.
Design Consultant
Jen handles in-home consultations and helps homeowners pick the right floor for their space, budget, and lifestyle. She came from the interior design side — seven years at a kitchen-and-bath firm in Bergen County — so she thinks about flooring in context: how it connects to cabinets, paint, light, and traffic patterns. She brings samples to every visit and won't let you make a decision you'll regret in two years.
Content Specialist
Erich covers flooring topics from the homeowner's perspective — researching materials, interviewing our installers, and translating technical knowledge into practical guides. He works closely with the VM Power team to make sure every article reflects real job-site experience, not internet recycling.
Not platitudes. Not buzzwords on a wall. These are the things that cost us time and money — and we do them anyway.
Last month, a homeowner in Bethlehem asked us to skip the subfloor prep and just lay the planks over her existing vinyl. It would've saved us four hours. We said no. Because six months later, those planks would've been buckling, and she'd be calling someone to redo the whole thing. Every project gets full subfloor inspection, proper acclimation, and an NWFA-standard install. Our guys average eight-plus years on the job. They'd be embarrassed to do it any other way.
Here's something most flooring companies won't tell you: sometimes you don't need new floors. We've talked homeowners out of full replacements when a good refinish would do the job for a third of the price. Our estimates are line-itemized. No "flooring package" pricing where you can't see what anything costs. If the timeline slips — and with backordered materials in this market, it happens — you'll hear from Sarah, not find out when nobody shows up Monday morning.
Every person who walks into your home is background-checked, drug-tested, and trained in-house. They're covered by our workers' comp and held to our standards. If they track dust into your kitchen or ding a baseboard, Vincent is going to hear about it. That level of accountability comes from rigorous hiring, ongoing training, and a culture where quality isn't optional.
We're not a franchise. There's no corporate office in Dallas making decisions about your project. Our office is in Catasauqua. Danny lives in Bethlehem. Jen's kids go to school in the Lehigh Valley. When we sponsor the local Little League or donate materials to the Habitat build in Allentown, it's because these are our neighborhoods. We run into our customers at Wegmans. That kind of proximity keeps you honest.
The numbers behind the promise. Every one of these is verifiable.
